CBD is the abbreviation of cannabidiol and refers to one of the more than 200 cannabinoids present in Cannabis. If until some time ago there was hardly ever any mention of CBD as a non-psychotropic substance and therefore considered uninteresting about the possible side effects. Recent studies have shown a multitude of health effects that this substance is able to produce on humans who use it.
Cannabis, in the past, has almost always been spoken in a negative sense, highlighting only the negative aspects produced by THC. Today the scientific literature has opened the doors to new therapeutic sceneries, highlighting therapeutic properties related to CBD and other compounds present in Cannabis.
Legal aspects and impact on health
Many people are convinced that Cannabis contains only prohibited substances and/or harmful to individuals. The truth, however, is completely different, and as evidenced by recent medical and pharmacological research we know that in Cannabis, and in particular in CBD. There are many beneficial and helpful active ingredients in combating various human diseases.
Returning to the discussion on the legal aspects of CBD and Cannabis, it must be said that Hemp is a very important plant from which textile fibres are obtained, materials for bio-building, substances useful for the cosmetics industry and essential oils such as CBD useful for medicine and modern pharmacology. CBD is a naturally produced substance from hemp, legal and uncontrolled by the authorities. On the contrary, the THC present in Hemp is a legal element only up to a certain percentage (1%), beyond which it is considered illegal and actionable by law as a narcotic substance.
Several years ago, no one knew of the existence of CBD oil, but today there are many people in the world who use it as a dietary supplement and in some specific cases as a medicinal therapy.
The cannabidiol, called CBD, is the second highest concentration cannabinoid that is found within the flowers, stems and leaves of the hemp or cannabis plant. With the passing of time more and more producers, but especially professors with their studies and experiments, have highlighted and are recognizing the health benefits, especially for the well-being of the body, through use of CBD.
The Oil containing CBD should not be confused with hemp oil, which is produced by cold pressing of seeds and is an excellent natural supplement because of the nutrients it contains.
Oil of CBD instead is extracted with specific procedures through the use of CO2 or alcohol using the parts of the plant with higher concentration of cannabinoids.
Benefits of CBD Oil
Many scientific researches indicate that CBD, which is a compound of Hemp sativa, can offer many health benefits. Cannabidiol does not have the psychoactive effects of THC, the most famous component of marijuana used for recreational purposes.

CBD also acts actively on the body, the oil that includes it therefore has many probable advantages for
the health and care of the body beauty.

There are also many studies that indicate CBD and its products as possible aids also against epilepsy and cancer but there is still no sure certainty. For cancer, for example, the National Cancer Institute has carried out several studies on the anticancer effects of CBD, one of which was carried out in mice and provided interesting results. In some cases, CBD may have a protective effect against tumour growth of certain types of cancer. Another study always carried out in the United States, the California Pacific Medical Centre to be exact, has shown that CBD disables the genes responsible for the spread of cancer in the case of breast cancer and other cancers.
As for the aesthetic benefits of the body, the CBD hemp oil may have anti-acne functions, due to the fact that its anti-inflammatory properties reduce sebum production, as revealed by a study published by the Journal of clinic Investigation; an anti-aging effect, thanks to the antioxidants that includes that are able to counteract the free radicals that attack the cells of our body making them age prematurely, and finally the moisturizing and soothing properties on the skin that originated from its high levels of essential fatty acids.

As with all cosmetic products, also those with CBD have contraindications and side effects, such as in the case of external use is always recommended before using it on a small portion to see if there may be any allergic reactions that may range from itching, redness up to real dermatitis.
CBD oil and dosing
The assertion that vegetable and organic ingredients can be taken in any quantity, based on the fact that they are considered harmless, it’s always a big mistake that people make despite warnings from a number of competent doctors. Therefore, the fact that organic elements found in a drug or in some products are totally natural does not make them completely free of side effects.
For this reason, before consumption, whether it is a natural or unnatural product, the dosage must be properly evaluated, for example, water can also have harmful effects if taken in a quantity of more than 10 litres per day.
The most common dosages available are:
CBD Oil 5%
CBD Oil 10%
CBD Oil 15%
CBD Oil 20%
For this reason, it is essential to understand the importance of its optimal dosage so that those who use it can consider its consequences, in fact many users of CBD are not yet informed about the correct dose, the one that produces the best effects. To understand this one must follow some basic suggestions such as relying on body weight, in fact as for any other drug also the amount of CBD is dictated by body weight, This is because each person has a different level of tolerance, so it is more appropriate for the body to react to the right amount of natural ingredients to notice positive results.
Approximately the CBD dose for every 6 kg weight should be about 4 mg maximum.
Another suggestion is to always try to start with a low dosage. This is a universal rule for the consumption of drugs, natural or not, so to start you can try a low dosage and increase it gradually if you do not achieve positive results. Finally, consulting a doctor who has a knowledge of the natural product is another important resource for getting an idea of the ideal dose of CBD oil.
Product marketed as a food supplement. Dosage at user’s discretion.
WHO 2017: is not a drug, you do not need to increase the dosage over time to get the same effects, it has no side effects.
How CBD oil is produced
CBD oils are extracted from organically grown hemp plants, when the plants are ripe, they are harvested and subjected to certain processes where the terpenes (the aromatic compounds from the therapeutic properties contained in hemp) are extracted from the flowers through a distillation phase, followed by the extraction of CBD with CO.
This last phase gives way to obtain pure oils that intentionally maintain the complex of cannabinoids and terpenes present in the plants. CBD oils, therefore, can be divided into filtered or crude oils.
In the first case we have an oil with an extraction phase and a filtration phase to eliminate fats and unwanted chemicals, which will lead to have a light-coloured oil, containing only the active compounds.
In the case of the crude oil, instead, it is extracted and mixed with vegetable oils, without the presence of further processes that do not allow to know exactly the concentration of their compounds with the presence of a darker colouration.
