Why are the best Brands THC FREE?
What is the difference between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolated?
Before we dive into the deepening that CBD products that do not contain THC are the best, we will spend a few moments to explain, in short, the different types of CBD extracts.
There are mainly 3:
• Full Spectrum - full spectrum CBD products contain a selection of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, including THC
• Broad Spectrum (THC-free) - CBD products without THC contain all benefits cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids except THC
• CBD isolates - contains CBD only
Within the high-quality CBD products, there are many beneficial components besides cannabidiol. In fact, when you take isolated products, which contain only CBD, you will lose many of the beneficial effects of the hemp plant. Full-spectrum products also include the controlled substance THC, as well as many other beneficial elements naturally present in the hemp plant.
Unfortunately, despite the numerous properties, the inclusion of THC in these products is not accepted by everyone. However, broad spectrum products combine the best of both categories listed above, but without the potential negative effects of THC. We speak, therefore, of all the benefits contained by flavonoids, terpenes and cannabinoids, but without contraindications.
What does EU legislation say about THC?
The acronym THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol. It is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid contained in the cannabis plant and its best known peculiarity is, precisely, to create an altered mental status and from the feeling of being “high”.
In Europe the legislation is very clear as regards the content of THC in CBD products. In fact, although many CBD companies often misquote that the growth limit of tetrahydrocannabinol is 0.2%, in reality EU laws state that the maximum allowed limit is 1 mg THC per product.
THC is classified as a controlled substance due to its psychoactive properties. As such, it is considered an illegal substance under the Drug Abuse Act, but there is one exception: an amount of 1mg of THC is allowed in any closed container. 1 milligram is a very small quantity, compared to the actual size of the product. Therefore, even if THC levels are less than 0.2%, the legal limit is often exceeded.
This is basically one of the main reasons why we only sell CBD products that do not contain THC, so be sure to offer our customers a 100% legal assortment.
Why choose CBD products without THC?
Most users prefer CBD products without THC content, because a lot of users have concerns about this. This is partly due to drug controls (although the THC level is very low) or simply to an aversion to traces of THC in full spectrum products.
Many people have to take drugs tests at work. Although THC levels in CBD products are very low and therefore insufficient to produce psychoactive effects, workers who have to undergo the tests prefer to avoid any kind of risk, since the pharmacological screening also shows the possible presence of THC, despite being at the lowest levels.
THC can be detected in our body for a longer time than other compounds (up to 20 hours after intake), it is stored in body fat and organs for about three to four weeks. If, however, a hair follicle test is performed, the presence of THC could be detected even after 90 days.
There are also people who are very sensitive to the presence of THC, although this is contained in a product at very low levels. THC, in fact, comes with the warning of negative effects, which many people would like to avoid.
